Hi everyone... Day four in the Philippines
This morning we attended church at Welfareville, the largest slum area in Manila. We were blessed to meet part of our family under Christ who worship the same God in another part of the world in another language in circumstances so totally different to our own. Part of the service included some songs and skits that we played for them and which attracted many children and fathers who usually avoid the church. It was a great time to get to know some of the young people who we will be seeing a few times over the next weeks. I really enjoyed the company of a group of girls who were very eager to introduce to me all their friends and family. A group of boys thought that Jono was Justin Bieber and wanted him to dance for them... I have attached a photo of Jono and his fans :)
Thank you for all your prayers... we have passed your greetings on to the church in Welfareville.
Oh, and Sarah, just letting you know that my knee is better... thanks for your prayers!

It is great to hear what you are doing and to see the photos. At Mittagong Anglican Church today we prayed for you all by name. People at the church looked at the photos you sent and were amazed at the differences between Manila and Mittagong.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work

We missed you guys but thrilled that you bring the treasure of Jesus to young people that is more valuable than billons of US dollars.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you all 'in action'. You have some supporters in the UK. The "Woodies" are following the blog and are praying for you (Erica and Cameron can fill you in on who they are). God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteIt is really good to see and hear what you're up to so promptly - thanks for taking the time to keep us up to date. It's great to see you're connecting with people - we'll pray your witness makes a difference for God's kingdom. God keep you all well and loving!
ReplyDeleteLove, Helen.
Thanks for the window into what you are doing! It is so exciting and confronting to see what you see and we are only witnessing the 2D version! All our love and prayers for you! The Lord will carry you through and thank you so much for taking us on your precious journey! God Bless and keep you all safe, love Gay
