IN THE PHILIPPINES!

We made it! On late thursday night, we made it in to the country, and to Jenn's house in Manila.
The next day we mostly rested, with a short walk around the suburb.

Today we went on a cultural tour of downtown Manila, and we saw massive catholic churches, busy marketplaces, overcrowded streets, wild traffic (we rode on Jeepneys!), historic sites, and the Filipino's answer to McDonalds (Jollibee!). As white westerners, many people looked at us excitedly, and we even had people taking photos of us - it;s like being celebrities.
Tomorrow we are involved in the Welfareville combined house churches doing music and drama. Some of the poverty we've seen already is pretty confronting, so please pray that we respond wisely and in a godly way.
